Making a donation to REEL Rack is a powerful way to support people in crisis while protecting the environment. Every contribution helps us provide free, pre-loved clothing to families and individuals who have lost everything through homelessness, domestic violence, or sudden emergencies like house fires.
Our individual emergency clothing packs contain seasonal, age and culturally appropriate clothing and essential items and are provided to those who are in crisis or are experiencing exceptional hardship.
Typically, a pack includes toiletries, clothing, footwear, day clothing, nightwear and a coat.
A donation of £20 funds an individual clothing and essentials pack, and provides support through our Engage, Encourage, Empower and Enrich step change sessions.
Our family emergency clothing packs contain seasonal, age and culturally appropriate clothing and essential items and are provided to those who are in crisis or are experiencing exceptional hardship.
Typically, a pack includes toiletries, clothing, footwear, day clothing, nightwear and a coat for each member of the family.
We also include items like books, soft toys, and activity packs for children.
A donation of £50 funds a family clothing and essentials pack, and provides support through our Engage, Encourage, Empower and Enrich step change sessions and our women, family and baby sessions.
Our volunteers are the heartbeat of our organisation. They receive, sort, and pack our clothing packs and they do it with care, compassion and love. Collectively, they volunteer over 50 hours per week and their work has an incredible impact on our community.
Our volunteers support the delivery of our Engage, Encourage, Empower and Enrich step change sessions, helping us to set up, making the tea and having warm, welcoming conversations with those who attend.
A donation of £100, enables us to reimburse their travel expenses and provides us with an opportunity to pay for the small things we're not funded for, but that make a big difference to their volunteer experiences - their uniform, their training and development, the refreshments and (if we raise enough funds) an annual volunteer appreciation and recruitment day.
We operate on a shoestring budget. A significant amount of our operational costs are not funded, like the rent and utilities for our operations centre (where we deliver the majority of our support from), the cost of our website (it's how referrals are made and how we communicate with our community) and one off items, such as a hoover or new storage boxes.
A donation of £500 helps us to keep the lights on, work in a safe, dry space and deliver our support services to the community. We know it's a big donation but it has far greater impact than could be explained here.
